What we do

Boiler installation, done properly

Most boiler jobs we see are one of three things: an old boiler that keeps breaking down, a boiler that’s simply reached the end of its life, or a move from a hot water tank to a combi to free up space. Whichever it is, the aim is the same: the right boiler for the size of your home and the way you use hot water, fitted so it looks tidy and runs efficiently for years.

We work on natural gas boilers only: combi, system and regular (heat-only) boilers. We’ll tell you honestly if a like-for-like swap is the sensible choice, or if a different type would suit your house better. No pressure, no upselling, just a straight answer and a clear written quote.

Pipework matters as much as the boiler. You’ll often see it under the boiler for the next fifteen years, so we run it straight, clip it properly and make it look like it was meant to be there.

  • System and regular boilers, with cylinders where needed
  • Tank-to-combi conversions to free up space
  • Moving a boiler to a new position
  • Controls, thermostats and filters fitted and set up
  • Old boiler removed and the area left clean

When to think about boiler installation

  • It keeps breaking down

If you’re calling someone out every winter, the repair bills soon add up to the cost of a new boiler.

  • It’s over 12–15 years old

Older boilers are less efficient and parts get harder to find. It’s worth getting a quote before it fails in January.

  • Your bills are creeping up

An ageing boiler works harder for the same heat. A modern condensing boiler wastes far less gas.

  • Hot water runs out or goes cold

Not enough hot water for the household, or temperature swings in the shower, can mean the boiler is the wrong size or struggling.

  • Strange noises or a yellow flame

Banging, kettling or a lazy yellow flame need checking straight away by a Gas Safe engineer.

  • You want the cupboard back

Swapping a tank and cylinder for a combi can free up a whole airing cupboard.

Step by step

How a job runs

No surprises. Here’s what happens from your first message to the finished job.

  1. Free survey and quote

We look at your current set-up, how many bathrooms and radiators you have, and where the flue can go. You get a written quote with exactly what’s included.

  2. Choosing the boiler

We talk you through the options that suit your home, not just the most expensive one, and agree a date that works for you.

  3. Fitting day

Floors and surfaces are protected, the old boiler comes out and the new one goes in, with new pipework run neatly. A straight swap usually takes a day; conversions or moves take longer.

  4. Flush, fill and test

The system is cleaned and refilled with inhibitor, a filter is fitted where appropriate, and everything is tested for gas tightness, safe combustion and correct pressures.

  5. Handover and paperwork

We show you how to use the controls and top up the pressure, register the boiler for its manufacturer warranty, and notify Building Control through Gas Safe so you receive your compliance certificate.

Questions

Boiler installation: your questions answered

The things people ask us most. If yours isn’t here, just message us.

How much does a new boiler cost?

It depends on the type of boiler, the size of your home, whether the boiler is staying in the same place and how much pipework needs changing. Rather than give a rough figure that turns out wrong, we look at the job and give you a free, fixed written quote, so you know the cost before anything starts.

How long does a boiler installation take?

A like-for-like combi swap in the same position is usually done in a day. Converting from a regular or system boiler to a combi, or moving the boiler to a new spot, typically takes two to three days. We’ll give you a realistic timescale with your quote.

Which type of boiler do I need: combi, system or regular?

Combi boilers heat water on demand and suit most flats and homes with one or two bathrooms. System boilers with a cylinder suit homes with more bathrooms or several people showering at once. Regular boilers suit some older systems. We’ll recommend what fits your house and how you use hot water.

Should my heating be flushed when a new boiler goes in?

Yes, the system should be cleaned. Old sludge and debris can damage a new boiler and affect its warranty. For many systems a chemical clean is enough; heavily sludged systems benefit from a powerflush, which our sister company Kent Powerflush specialises in.

Do you fit oil or LPG boilers?

No. We work on natural gas boilers only, as Gas Safe registered engineers (No. 660156).

Will you take the old boiler away?

Yes. The old boiler and packaging are removed and the area is left clean.

Is a new boiler notified to Building Control?

Yes. Every new gas boiler must be notified, and as a Gas Safe registered business we do this for you. You’ll receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate in the post.

We cover Faversham, Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Thanet (Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate), Sandwich, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Ashford and Sittingbourne, and the villages and areas in between. See the areas we cover.
